Aashlesha Nakshatra in Ravana Samhita by Veneet Kumar

Introduction:

In this article are presented the results of planets placed in the ninth constellation of Aashlesha as described in the Ravana Samhita. The results are described in the Samhita according to the pada or quarter in which the planet is placed and also based on which other planets aspect it.

The word Aashlesha means embrace. This constellation is ruled by Mercury and spans 16deg 40min to 30 deg of the sign Cancer. The Nagas are the deities of this constellation.

Sun in Aashlesha

If Sun is aspected by Moon then the native is skilled in doing the works of others but is tormented by his kinsmen. Sometimes he also suffers because of bodily defects. Is Mars aspects Sun then the native rejects his close friends. He suffers from water-borne diseases. If Mercury aspects then the native is a commentator/professor in an educational institution. Children of people with high authority are his students. If Jupiter aspects then the native is respected in the family and benefits from the government. If aspected by Venus then he obtains wealth, clothes and other comforts from women. If aspected by Saturn then the native is poor, is afflicted by several diseases or is handicapped because of paralysis.

  • Quarter 1: If Sun is in the first quarter and if the ascendant is in Anuradha or Jyeshtha then the native travels all over the country. He travels alone in the pilgrimages helping poor people on his way. He suffers from diseases related to tearing (of the skin) of feet or weakness in the knees.
  • Quarter 2: If Sun is in the second quarter then the native’s father dies suddenly. His business fails because of his wife. Slowly he becomes a subject of mockery for all.
  • Quarter 3: If Sun is in the third quarter then the native is happy because of a good wife and good progeny. But his wife suffers constantly and operations have to be performed on her.
  • Quarter 4: If Sun is in the fourth quarter then the native is devoid of happiness from progeny. One of his brothers obtains special fame and respect. Because of this the native obtains wealth and respect. If the ascendant is also in this quarter of the constellation then less good things and more bad things happen in life.

Moon in Aashlesha

If Moon is aspected by Sun then the native is an architect. He works in a small post for the government. He does not like helping others. If Mars aspects then the native taints his family by performing cruel and dastardly acts. He causes misfortunes for mother. If Mercury aspects then the native is happy with wealth, position, wife, son etc. He is interested in the army or government related jobs. If Jupiter aspects then the native is skilled in conduct, a skilled orator and lives a happy life. If Venus aspects then the native suffers from veneral diseases. Diseases like Tuberculosis may also arise. If Saturn aspects then the native has a bad character, is a cheat, conspires with his wife against his mother, is poor and lives in foreign lands.

  • Quarter 1: If Moon is in the first quarter then the native is wealthy, compassionate and intelligent. He earns his livelihood through vehicles. He is famous and has a dominating presence all around.
  • Quarter 2: If Moon is in the second quarter then the native dies because of an epidemic or because of a terrible incurable disease. Such a native also suffers from leprosy and has an ill luck and is devoid of love from parents. He earns his livelihood by working under others.
  • Quarter 3: If Moon is in the third quarter then the native is devoid of happiness from parents. There is a possibility of staying away from family. He obtains troubles from close relatives. He may die because of an accident.
  • Quarter 4: If Moon is in the fourth quarter then the native steals the wealth of others or earns through unrighteous means. He is not contented with small profits. He works in the treasury. He may also work at the post of collector in some organization. He is also connected with trading of alcohol. He earns in foreign lands.

Mars in Aashlesha

If Mars is aspected by Sun then the native is patient. He becomes a principal at some educational institution. He suffers from Jaundice. If Moon aspects then the native constantly loses his wealth. If Mercury aspects then the native provides shelter to relatives ignored by family. He earns through his intelligence and hard work. If Jupiter aspects then the native obtains a high post in government or politics. He is skilled in conduct and is famous. If Venus aspects then the native has a bad luck despite being born in a wealthy family. He becomes poor because of losses in business. If Saturn aspects then the native has a palace/house or some other property. He obtains money from the government. 

 Quarter 1: If Mars is in the first quarter then the native has injuries from knives and swords. He is tormented many times by animals and cruel people. But still he does not abandon his duties.
 Quarter 2: If Mars is in the second quarter then the native behaves improperly with his servants. Consequently the tormented people take revenge from him. His business is average but still his financial position is very good.
 Quarter 3: If Mars is in the third quarter then the native gives up all hope and is unhappy in his marital life. He behaves violently with his family members. Some natives suffer punishments because of killing their wives.
 Quarter 4: If Mars is in the fourth quarter then the native possesses wealth of average grade. He earns his livelihood through business. His wife is always sick but is long-lived. There are obstructions in happiness related to progeny. If there is an aspect of Saturn then the native marries more than once or else goes to prostitutes.

Mercury in Aashlesha

If Mercury is aspected by Sun then the native suffers miseries from his wife. The native is lean and thin and spends in a wrong fashion. If Moon aspects then the native becomes a merchant of clothes. If Mars aspects then the native possesses knoweldge of scriptures. He has love for wealth. He is cruel and creates deadly weapons. If Jupiter aspects then the native is a critic of art, learned, wealthy and soft-spoken. If Venus aspects then the native is garrulous, restless and is connected with the field of dance and music. He likes gaudy coloured clothes. If Saturn aspects then the native is subservient to others and stays away from family. He is an enemy of those working under him.

  • Quarter 1: If Mercury is in the first quarter then the native works in a planned manner. He is learned and has two children. He may have diseases of the lungs.
  • Quarter 2: If Mercury is in the second quarter then the native is a writer and lives in foreign lands. Some natives may trade in silk or water-born things. He dies because of excessive water in lungs, diseases related to the wind or through a vehicular accident.
  • Quarter 3: If Mercury is in the third quarter then the native is an alcoholic, has diseases of the stomach and chest, makes nominal profits in business and stay out of home somewhere else. There are differences with wife for forty years and things improve after that.
  • Quarter 4: If Mercury is in the fourth quarter then the native obtains higher education in serious subjects like science. He is an engineer, doctor or an expert in farming and irrigation. He suffers from incurable diseases.

Jupiter in Aashlesha

If Sun aspects Jupiter then the native is an official at a high post or a political leader or else a chief of some department and obtains respect like a minister. If Moon aspects then the family of the native is destroyed suddenly. After this destruction wealth is obtained as a compensation. His conduct is good. There are marks of wounds on his body. If Mercury aspects then the native benefits financially from a relative. He is appointed on a political post. If Venus aspects then the native has many women dependent on him. He obtains wealth from unrighteous posts. If Saturn aspects then the native might be a chief of some organization or has a high post in the army. He has authority and excessive wealth.

  • Quarter 1: If Jupiter is in the first quarter then the native possesses wealth. His children and wife are sweet-speaking. The native lives a happy life. If Venus is debilitated in the birth chart then the native breaks up with his first wife and marries again. He has one or two daughters from the second marriage.
  • Quarter 2: If Jupiter is in the second quarter then the native is successful in research. He is whimsical but is truthful and indulges in charities. His progeny is long-lived and devoted to work. He always obtains praises. If Mars is conjunct with Jupiter then governmental honours are obtained.
  • Quarter 3: If Jupiter is in the third quarter then the native, his wife and his progeny – all the three work together to earn money. He obtains movable and immovable property from the side of his in-laws. If the ascendant is also in this quarter of this constellation then the native reaps the good results of his past-life deeds. He obtains a lot of wealth through heirship.
  • Quarter 4: If Jupiter is in the fourth quarter then the native is at a high post in the government. Is Venus is weak then the native has a second marriage.

Venus in Aashlesha

If Venus is aspected by Sun then the native is himself short-tempered and has to face anger from women. He has many secret enemies. If Moon aspects then the native is inauspicious for his mother. His progeny is virtuous. If Mars aspects then the native has a lot of interest in sculpture and arts related to entertainment. If Mercury aspects then the native respects his elders and remains obeditent to them. He suffers mentally because of son and wife. If Jupiter aspects then the native is cunning. He has a happy married life. If Saturn aspects then the native is poor, unhappy and performs unrighteous deeds.

  • Quarter 1: If Venus is in the first quarter then the native has a troublesome marital life. There are chances of a divorce. His mental-balance is disturbed.
  • Quarter 2: If Venus is in the second quarter then the native has two wives. In the end he is destroyed because of lust. He has diseases of the heart, arthritis and paralysis but there is on one to take care of him.
  • Quarter 3: If Venus is in the third quarter then the native has a low-grade behavious right from his childhood. After growing up he becomes a cheat or a thief.
  • Quarter 4: If Venus is in the fourth quarter then the native is engaged at a high post in the government. He is an important figure in the political field. He enjoys the pleasure of being an authority. His marital life is unhappy because of relations with other women.

Saturn in Aashlesha

If Sun aspects Saturn then the native is devoid of happiness of a good family and happiness from father. He does not even get food properly. Because of not obtaining a desirable wife his marital life is also filled with sorrow. He gives trouble to his mother. If Moon aspects then the native himself becomes a cause of the complete destruction of his family. If Mars aspects then the native obtains wealth from the government but remains weak physically. His children and wife are virtuous.  If Venus aspects then he has a captivating personality. He earns money by trading in liquid products.

  • Quarter 1: If Saturn is in the first quarter then the native is devoid of happiness from parents and children. His mother earns money by doing some business. The native’s character is not good. He has illicit relations with women. With time his sexual strength weakens.Because of his his wife also remains dissatisfied with him.
  • Quarter 2:If Saturn is in the second quarter then the native is highly educated. He travels abroad. He is connected with scientific works and possesses houses, vehicles and servants through his intelligence and leads a happy life.
  • Quarter 3:If Saturn is in the third quarter then the native has a doubtful character. He is egoistic, a mediator and a creditor. The parents of the female native reject her because of improper conduct. Later on she stays with her mother and they live deprived of wealth.
  • Quarter 4:If Saturn is in the fourth quarter then the native destroys his wealth. His relations with father are not good. His father has a bad conduct and is an alcoholic. He physically torments the native’s mother.

Rahu in Aashlesha

  • Quarter 1:If Rahu is in the first quarter then all the native’s misfortunes are destroyed and he lives a long life. But his life is unhappy.
  • Quarter 2:If Rahu is in the second quarter then the native is short-lived. He suffers more troubles in his childhood.
  • Quarter 3:If Rahu is in the third quarter then the native is a doctor or sells medicines. He can even be a Vaidya. He remains under a lot of stress. He is successful in business after the age of forty. He gains by farming or by selling vegetables.
  • Quarter 4:If Rahu is in the fourth quarter then the native has to suffer opposition from the family. He makes more wealth through a lucrative business. When his financial position becomes good his relatives come near him. But when he does not have wealth then even his wife abandons him.

Ketu in Aashlesha

  • Quarter 1:If Ketu is in the first quarter then the native is a nurse. Some natives work in defence or spy-organizations.
  • Quarter 2:If Ketu is in the second quarter then the native is patient, pious, unhappy because of father and assists his mother.
  • Quarter 3:If Ketu is in the third quarter then the native’s position remains excellent. He is highly educated and earns wealth through research. He also travels in foreign lands.
  • Quarter 4:If Ketu is in the fourth quarter then the native’s friends are wealthy. He gains from his friends. He is a creditor. He also gains through works related to wealth and property.
