By

Iranganti Rangacharya, India.

Chart 4 belongs to Rabindranath Tagore who won the Nobel Prize for his Geetanjali.  Mercury becomes Srashta occupying the 2nd house for his birth ascendant Pisces.  Mercury and Mars are jeeva and sareera of his Ascendant, the 5th and the 10th houses.  Mars and Mercury are jeeva and sareera of the 2nd and the 9th houses respectively.  Mercury and Mars have exchanged the houses.  And wonderfully there is no other planet influencing sareera except Mercury and Mars, the powerful combination of which reveals his poetic talent.  Thus jeeva-sareera structure of the two planets mark clearly his world-repute, poetry, personality, wealth and fame.

Prarabdha plaents are Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

Agami planets are the Sun, the Moon and Mercury.

Saturn, the planet of renunciation, becomes Srashta.  Rahu is the jeeva planet of his birth ascendant, Cancer.  Adi Sankara suffered inwardly in his idealistic task of spreading his philosophy.  Attempts were made ot burn his soulless body.  His spiritual quest indicated by Ketu was rendered tenacious by Rahu coupled with his great intellect and atheistic though as evidenced by the exchange of Jupiter and Saturn.  But by virtue of his combust Venus as Jeeva, Sankara was an ascetic and had no sexual bliss except on one occasion when he made Parakaya pravesham.  Jupiter and Saturn are jeeva and sareera of the 5th Bhava, while Saturn is Srashta.  He wrote great commentaries on Upanishads, Brahma Sutras and Geeta.  He composed several exquisite poetical pieces.  The parivartana Yoga of Jupiter and Saturn  the 5th and the 10th made him the greatest exponent of Advaita philosophy.  Saturn, the planet of Renunciation, becoming Srashta and influencing both jeeva and sareera, must have assured the final emancipation of his soul, as the Moon, Lord of Lagna is an Aagami also.
